Angles Fashion

Be Lenka barefoot shoes manufacture all their footwear in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Co-founded by Lenka Cenigova–a mother who wanted to make barefoot shoes more accessible for all–and Juraj Fehervari, Be Lenka’s barefoot shoes are very trendy. Available styles include winter boots, sneakers, and even kids’ shoes. 

Bear Shoes

The founders of Bear Shoes understand how harmful traditional shoes can be to the wearer, which inspired them to create their own brand of barefoot shoes. This US-based barefoot shoe manufacturer embraces simple designs that achieve the company’s mission statement, which is “Optimizing the Human to Ground Interface.” 

Bedrock Sandals

Strap in and put your best foot forward in Bedrock Sandals. This US brand was founded in 2011 and strives to produce capable, adjustable, and durable footwear. They achieved that objective with the Cairn model, Bedrock’s flagship sandal that has won awards for comfort and innovation

bLIFESTYLE

The German brand bLIFESTYLE priortizes comfort, shoe width, and barefoot properties such as a thin sole. Most of the footwear is for men, but some unisex options exist in the collection. bLIFESTYLE has some very sporty sneakers in bright, fun colors that don’t look barefoot but are.

Birchbury

You’ll turn heads when you sport Birchbury barefoot shoes. The available styles are the Brenston minimalist dress shoe and the Bramford minimalist leather sneaker. This US-based brand designs their shoes wide to meet the barefoot aesthetic, and the footwear is ultra-soft, so you’ll happily wear these shoes all day! 

Bobux

If you’re getting the kids into the barefoot shoe lifestyle, Bobux must be on your shortlist of brands to consider. The New Zealand shoe manufacturer sells barefoot shoes for kids of all ages, from newborns to crawling babies, walking babies, toddlers and preschoolers, and kids. 

The barefoot shoe styles run the gamut from sandals to sneakers, booties, and everything in between. Most shoes slip right on or have Velcro closures so they’re kid-appropriate. 

Bohempia

Czech Republic brand Bohempia produces all matter of hemp-based goods, including clothing, dish towels, soap, candles, and barefoot shoes, of course. Their line of winter vegan barefoot shoes are especially stylish, bucking the tradition that barefoot shoes have to be unappealing.

Czech barefoot shoe manufacturer Bosky Shoes produces sandals dripping in luxury. Some collections feature pure leather straps, and others textiles and premium materials. The shoes are beloved for their versatility, thin insoles (some of which are made of leather), durability, lightweight qualities, and comfort. You can even buy Bosky Shoes for the kiddos!  

Camper

Founded in Spain in 1975, Camper has a line of barefoot shoes that’s ever-growing. Some of their barefoot options include the men’s Peu, the women’s Peu, and even children’s Twins barefoot booties.

Dress up any outfit in a pair of Carets barefoot shoes. This US brand produces high-end men’s barefoot dress shoes, including loafers and oxfords that are perfect for the workplace and other formal occasions. Their natural pull-up boots are rugged and stylish for everyday use. 

Chala

Chala, a German brand, is named after a barefoot shoe the company created inspired by huarache sandals. Each pair of shoes is completely handmade in Germany and uses natural materials like cork and vegetable-tanned leather. 

The brand favors sustainability and fair labor, working with suppliers within Germany. For each pair of shoes you buy, three percent goes toward the Tarahumara people. 

Conker Shoes 

Founded in 1977, Conker Shoes in the UK handmakes its appealing barefoot shoes. Your options are ribbed, cleated, or lightweight cleated shoes in a variety of styles, including boots, sandals, Mary Janes, flats, and clogs. Besides the quality and craftsmanship of Conker Shoes, you’ll also fall in love with the brand’s impeccable use of color. 

Davinci Footwear

If you’re looking for casual footwear and boots with that barefoot feel, Davinci Footwear has you covered. The wide toes of their barefoot shoes give your feet plenty of room to move, breathe, and explore all day. A zero-drop heel makes you feel like you’re walking shoe-less.

Filii Barefoot 

The founders of Filii Barefoot in Germany were new parents looking for comfortable shoes for their newly walking child. They were dissatisfied with their options, so they decided to create barefoot shoes that would prioritize their child’s comfort and foot health. 

Filii doesn’t only produce barefoot shoes for children but for men and women too. Choose from sneakers, slip-ons, loafers, and booties. 

Fitkicks

The water shoe style of Fitkicks lets you enjoy more of that barefoot feeling not just from the sole of your shoe, but the upper as well. These shoes are available for men, women, and children so the whole family can quickly slip on a pair of Fitkicks shoes and then get going!

FYF

At first glance, you might assume that FYF by the Barefoot Company is a line of socks, not shoes. Indeed, these sock-style shoes are footwear. FYF says the tensile strength of their sock-shoes is 15 times greater than steel so you can use them during yoga, rock-climbing, surfing, or jogging.

Gaucho Ninja Leather is a UK brand specializing in barefoot and minimalist leather shoes, including Japanese-inspired tabi. Even if you don’t have any ninja moves, you’ll move as soundlessly and swiftly as one in these lightweight shoes with an authentic Japanese style. 

Gea Soles

Gea Soles is a Spanish barefoot shoe producer that handmakes its minimalist footwear. The women’s takes on flats and Mary Janes are high-quality and come in great colors. The men’s sneakers and boots are also durable and functional. 

Geniale Sandale

Healthy, sustainable, fair. Those are three words of many that can describe Geniale Sandale, a barefoot shoe brand from Austria. Producing its esteemed brand of minimalist footwear in Vienna, the manufacturer’s sandals use organic leather or vegan materials. 

Additionally, Geniale Sandale barefoot sandals are abrasion, water, and UV-resistant to stand up to everyday wear and tear for a long time to come. 

Groundies

The German brand Groundies makes urban footwear that not only looks great, but can roll right up and into your bag. Even their boots are portable like that. Other features of Groundies shoes include a zero-drop neutral footbed, spacious toe box, and TrueSense GS1 outsole.

The beloved Paleos are a Gost Barefoot mainstay. These barefoot shoes are intended for use in water and on land so you can roam more of the earth and feel like you’re not wearing shoes the whole time. With adaptable laces, strong chain mesh, and thin outer soles, there’s a Paleo for you from Gost! 

High Feels

Wearing barefoot shoes isn’t only about sustainability and comfort, as looks play a role too. High Feels understands this, which is why the German brand produces high-end barefoot sandals in appealing styles and colors. The collections go on sale for a limited time, making them that much more covetable. 

Icarus Footwear

A new player in the barefoot shoe world, US-based Icarus Footwear was founded in 2021. The impetus to start the brand was the lack of what the founder perceived as comfortable, stylish footwear. 

Icarus certainly exceeds in the style department, and these barefoot shoes have all the traits you crave for optimal foot health. Although the brand doesn’t yet have many barefoot shoe collections, we’re eagerly awaiting what should be many more great products from this very promising company! 

Jack & Lily

Healthy feet should start in childhood! Jack & Lily was founded on that premise after mother Brenda Buell struggled to find suitable footwear for her kids. She prides herself on high-quality barefoot shoes at affordable prices.

The collection of moccasins, sneakers, slip-ons, and active shoes comes in fun patterns and colors kids will enjoy. They won’t even know how much they’re benefitting their feet!

Joe Nimble

All barefoot shoes from Joe Nimble are handmade for a unique look and feel. Family-owned and operated with nearly 40 years in the industry, the Joe Nimble brand promotes what it calls ToeFreedom with its zero heel-lift barefoot shoes. Their footwear also features a wide and flat toe box and hand-stitched seams. 

Kinis 

Do your shoes optimize your feet’s biomechanics? If you’re wearing Kinis, they do! Produced in the US, Kinis is a brand of minimalist sock-style shoes. Offering a snug fit that’s never too tight, these barefoot shoes will help you train or just enjoy a casual stroll around town. It’s up to you! 

KIUU

KIUU promises quality and sustainability, or you can return your shoes and get your money back. Not like you will once you get to wear these barefoot shoes. Built of natural raw materials like recycled bottles, vegan fabric, merino wool, Napa leather, and suede leather, these shoes are as dependable as they are stylish. That is to say, very! 

Koel4Kids

If your children hate wearing their shoes, that will no longer be the case in a pair of barefoot shoes from Koel4Kids. Not all shoes from this manufacturer are barefoot, but the ones that are include the Bob, Bob Wide Feet, Ben, Ben Suede, Ben Bio, and Bart Bio Wool. Some of their shoes are even vegan! 

Leguano Shoes

German’s own Leguano Shoes feature antibacterial materials for maintaining the longevity of their barefoot shoes. With moisture-wicking and quick-drying features, even if you get sweaty or you traipse through a puddle, your shoes won’t stay soaked. The flexible and skidproof barefoot sole lets you feel more of the ground while the elastic upper conforms to your foot like the shoes aren’t even there.

No wonder we said Leguano Shoes are about as close to being barefoot as you can get with shoes on.

Lems’ Shoes

Andrew Rademacher of Lems’ Shoes founded the company in 2008 with the goal of producing shoes that fit around the foot’s natural shape. The Primal was the first Lems’ shoe and still remains one of their most popular to this day.

Created to make minimalist footwear look glamorous, UK brand Lisbeth Joe hits the nail on the head. Where else can you find a barefoot Chelsea boot with leopard print down the back or strappy minimalist sandals in hot hues like rose gold? 

Livie & Luca

The tagline at barefoot shoe brand Livie & Luca goes, “inspired by kids, created by experts.” Shop a varied collection that includes sneakers, sandals, T-strap shoes, flats, and Mary Janes. Since this US brand produces children’s barefoot shoes, you can expect bright, fun colors and patterns. 

Lonnie Sandals

LukShoes 

The Czech brand LukShoes is a family-owned business created in 2016. The variety of footwear available means there’s something for everyone, including sandals, ballerina flats, moccasins, short boots, and winter boots. Flexible, comfortable, and minimalist, LukShoes are ideal for everyday use.  

Luna Sandals

The outdoor adventure sandals from Luna Sandals are award-winning. Put them on anytime, as Luna Sandals are suitable for activities like running or jogging on the beach. Manitobah

Manitobah is the makers of barefoot moccasins and mukluks, which you definitely don’t find from many barefoot brands. Yes, that’s right, winter boots that warm your feet without thick, bulky soles that make it hard to walk through the snow. Many of Manitobah’s shoes are waterproof, and they’re also made for improving your circulation.

Merrell

One of the better-known names in barefoot shoes (despite that they sell other types of footwear) is undoubtedly Merrell. Beloved for the Trail Glove 6 for men and women as well as the Vapor Glove, Bare Access XTR, and even kids’ shoes, Merrell makes their barefoot shoes sustainable whenever possible, such as with a Vibram TC5+ sole from recycled rubber.

Mukishoes

Those wine corks you once used are brought back to life in Mukishoes, which are made primarily of cork. Produced in Portugal, Mukishoes has a huge line of footwear to choose from, everything from sneakers to ankle boots, winter boots, and running shoes. Some shoes even feature organic cotton flannel lining to keep your feet nice and toasty in the winter.

Nallu

The woolen barefoot slippers the Nallu brand has made its trademark are all handmade in the Czech Republic. The company also produces barefoot shoes for children and adults. The simplistic slippers come in a variety of colors and trendy, street-ready styles. 

Nord Republic

The Spanish barefoot shoe brand Nord Republic sells sustainable, appealing, minimalist sandals. The shoes feature Vibram soles for trademark durability, the Nord Lock System to keep the shoes on your feet no matter what kinds of activities you enjoy, and waterproofing. 

Nord Republic shoes are handmade by talented artisans in Italy and Spain. 

Oaka

Do you find dress shoes too uncomfortable for prolonged wear? The founder of Oaka had the same issue, which inspired the creation of the brand. The shoe mold gives the heel a traditional raised appearance, but it’s still a zero-drop heel for excellent groundfeel. 

The anti-slip bottom with its open tread design will keep you upright throughout your day. Oaka only produces barefoot dress shoes for men. 

OESH Shoes

OESH Shoes designed its footwear with input from medical science, including Harvard M.D. Dr. Casey Kerrigan. This allowed OESH to make shoes that are healthier for your feet than traditional footwear. The National Science Foundation has also praised OESH for its sustainability in manufacturing. As often as possible, the brand uses plant-derived spandex, hemp, and recycled materials in their barefoot shoes.

Origo Shoes

The tagline at Origo Shoes is “footwear gone natural.” At first glance, this collection of sneakers from the US doesn’t look barefoot at all, but they are! All shoes Origo produces are sustainable and better for our planet, as the brand favors natural materials.

The shoes are handcrafted in Mexico and imported. The retro, funky stylings of these shoes will attract you, as will the varied selection, as you can shop women’s, men’s, and kids’ barefoot shoes. 

PapeKrane

The too-cute kids’ shoes from PaperKrane should appeal to children and adults alike. The PaperKrane brand began in 2012 through Zara Cooper and Kate Corleison in Australia. Today, PaperKrane shoes are sold in the United States, New Zealand, and many other parts of the world as well. 

Papoutsi 

Denmark’s own Papoutsi retails fashionable, unique barefoot shoes for kids and adults. The brand’s footwear is open without being a sandal or flip-flop and uses vegetable-tanned authentic leather. The vegan collection of shoes is made from faux leather, so there’s truly something for everybody! 

Panta Sandals

Running in sandals might sound dangerous, but not in a pair of Panta Sandals. Their minimalist running sandals takes a page out of the book of the Ancient Greeks, who did a lot of their everyday living in sandals. Choose from the Trailblazers or Road Racers line and then take these shoes for a spin! 

Paulis Shoes

How about some more barefoot shoes for the kiddos? Paulis Shoes in Germany manufactures fun, colorful, bright footwear that would certainly grab any child’s eye. The sneakers feature soft leather from a Portugal tannery, a natural and synthetic rubber sole, a zero-drop heel, a detachable insole, and colorful laces.

Shipping its barefoot shoes across the world, the Czech-based Peerko has shoes for all sorts of occasions. If you wish to dress formally but without all the discomfort, try Peerko’s barefoot dress shoes. Combat the winter chill in tall boots or enjoy some everyday strolling in barefoot sneakers.

Pegres

The Pegres story starts in the Czech Republic. A family-owned and operated brand, the team at Pegres has experience making shoes, and after producing thousands of traditional pairs, switched its focus to barefoot shoes. 

Pegres’ barefoot shoes are designed for normal or flat insteps and narrow feet. The shoes feature materials like first-class leather and flexible rubber. 

Plae

The children’s barefoot shoe brand Plae was founded in the US. The inspiration behind the Plae brand is play – something that kids excel at, and we should all do. To help engage in better play, Plae created barefoot shoes for children.

The sneakers are available in several styles, from traditional to high-top and Mary Jane styles for the girls. The shoes feature Velcro closures and come in about every color palette and pattern you can imagine! 

Poco Nido 

The award-winning, UK-based Poco Nido produces barefoot slip-on shoes for children and babies. The shoes are, in Pico Nido’s own words, functional and simple. Created in 2011 by a mother who wanted the best footwear for her children, Pico Nido shoes come in an endless array of patterns and colors to whet any kid’s appetite.

Posh Panda 

Canada’s Posh Panda handmakes all its barefoot boots and moccasins. You can find shoes for the whole family, from toddler sizes to kids and adults. The shoes feature high-quality materials like real leather, suede, and hide hair. 

Proalp

Proalp in Slovenia has been in the shoemaking game for centuries. The company produces all its barefoot shoes in its hometown of Trzic. Their barefoot shoes have fun colors and maintain foot health. Shop slippers, ballerina flats, sneakers, sandals, and boots, including hiking boots. Some vegan options are available. 

Ruth Emily Davey

The woman herself created the eponymous barefoot shoe brand Ruth Emily Davey. Davey handcrafts all the shoes she sells. You can select from bespoke barefoot brogues, sandals, Mary Janes, ankle boots, winter boots, and more.

Raum Goods

Raum Goods has one mission: “connect people back to mother earth.”  The US brand uses natural materials and works with Southern Turkey artisans to create one-of-a-kind barefoot shoes. 

As a member of 1% for the Planet, one percent of the brand’s annual sales go toward charities and nonprofits that do better for the planet. 

All the rivets in Raum’s barefoot shoes are pure copper. The artisans hammer the rivets through the sole. When you walk, the rivets connect with the earth’s surface and the bottom of your feet, creating a conductive experience. 

Senmotic Shoes

Sindy and Frank Demann, the founders of German brand Senmotic Shoes, are also fascia therapists, so they know a thing or two about foot health and care. From medical barefoot shoes to those for sports, running, business, winter use, hiking, and everyday styles, Senmotic Shoes has a barefoot shoe for anyone’s tastes.

Shamma Sandals

Shamma Sandals says that by freeing up more of your feet, the rationale is that the body, legs, and feet can all move in the ways they’re supposed to, completely natural. Shapen Barefoot

Go barefoot in style with Shapen Barefoot! This brand from Slovakia produces all its shoes in the European Union. See Kai Run

Olivier Marchal once ran barefoot down a dirt road in Colorado. The experience changed him, and he soon sought to create shoes that wouldn’t hurt, even if you wore them for prolonged periods.
